North Spokane Farm Museum

Description: The North Spokane Farm Museum, affectionately referred to as "The Red Shed," is located just north of Spokane off Highway 395 in Deer Park at Greiff Farms. The museum contains a number of 19th and 20th century farm machines and home items. The collection includes a model tractor from the 1930s, a bedroom set from the 1940s, reapers, scarpers, washing machines, mowers and corn planters. Many of the items were collected by the farm's original owner, William Hugo Greiff. The regular season runs from April-November, but you can make an appointment any time of year. And remember, this is a working farm, so the best time to call is early morning.

The Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture (MAC) is the largest cultural organization in the Inland Northwest and includes five underground galleries, an orientation gallery, café, store, education center, community room and the Center for Plateau Cultural Studies. The rotating exhibits and programs focus on three major disciplines: American Indian and other cultures, regional history and visual art. An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, the MAC campus also includes the historic 1898 Campbell House, library & archives, an auditorium and outdoor amphitheater.

Spokane House Interpretive Center

Description: The Spokane House Interpretive Center is located near the site of what, in 1810, was the North West Company Trading Post and the first white settlement in the area. The post changed hands several times in subsequent years and was owned by the likes of the famous Hudson Bay Company. Today, visitors can visit the Interpretive Center and learn more about the history of the fur trade in the Pacific Northwest and see several artifacts that belonged to the original Spokane House outpost, including nails, sheet metal, files and washers.
