Revealed pipes, conduits, and brick towers surround the various restaurants, shops, and offices now housed here. Some of the walls are decorated with paintings and other types of artwork, helping to make the square feel very cozy. The structure was once Washington Water and Power's Central Steam Plant and the downtown area's main source of heat.

The Flour Mill

For more than 100 years, the Flour Mill was just as its name implied ­ a mill that ground wheat into flour. In 1974, as part of the city's preparation for the World's Fair, the mill was renovated to provide downtown space for eateries and retailers.
