Allegro's Royal Fireworks Festival and Concert
Description: The Royal Fireworks Festival, presented by Allegro Baroque and Beyond (Spokane's period music and events association), is the only baroque festival in the United States. Held at historic Riverfront Park, the festival centers on a \\"1749 England\\" theme, complete with a variety of visual and performing arts, exhibits and activities. Highlights of the weekend include the Saturday night Shakespeare comedy, and Allegro's Royal Band performance of Handel's \\"Music for the Royal Fireworks\\" with accompanying choreographed fireworks. Baroque period costumes are encouraged, and all ages are welcome. In July, you can call for more festival information 509-747-3230.

Cherry, Peach, and Apple Festivals

Description: If you want the chance to sample (and go home with) some of the best tree-ripe fruit in the country, then plan on attending these festivals held at Green Bluff Growers. Hoopfest

Description: This three-on-three round ball tournament, the largest in the world, has more than 140,000 players and spectators. Teams range from youngsters in 3rd grade on up, and there are Special Olympics teams as well. Spectators aren't left out, though additional highlights include a barbecue, concerts, food and even shopping. Wear your walking shoes there are about 400 courts, covering some 40 city blocks!

Spokane Lilac Festival Week

Description: Spokane's Lilac Festival is held every year for select days in early May. The highlights of the festival are the Armed Forces Torchlight Parade and Cruisin' The Falls Car Show. Other events include several luncheons and dinners, a theater performance, and a Golf Scramble.
